The Falls are a main attraction at Cascade River State Park and accessible from a short hike off MN highway 61.
About the Cascade River Falls
Cascade River creates a dramatic set of falls just off highway 61 that is stunning no matter the season you visit. In the spring fresh snowmelt makes the falls swell and in the winter the rapid falls rush behind their frozen exterior creating a magical photo opportunity in front of frozen falls.
The Cascade River provides another easy waterfall to get to, just off highway 61. The wayside stop is located 10 miles southwest of Grand Marais, and the falls are located on the west side of the highway, about 300 feet off the road. To the west you can walk down and look back up at the falls as they spill into Lake Superior.
