Honeymoon Bluff is an appropriate name for a place that provides stunning, cliff top views of Hungry Jack lake.
Where is it?
To get to the bluffs, head up the Gunflint Trail (County Road 12) for 27 miles. Look for the Flour Lake Campground sign and turn right. You’ll head another 2 miles, the trail head is just past the campground.
Hiking Honeymoon Bluff
This is a great hike for those looking for a Gunflint Trail drive, hike and then lunch or dinner. At just over 1/2 mile round trip the hike is short but provides great views of the large, Hungry Jack lake.
The hike is an easy one, up stairs to the overlook. Look out, as the overlook is on the edge of a cliff, there are guard rails but watch your pets and kids.
Double this hike with another hike along the Gunflint to get in more hiking and more viewing.
