Hello, My name is Ryan Ruud. I’m the founder and editor of North Shore Experiences. Welcome! I hope you enjoy the content and I’m thrilled to have you join the NSE community. As a life long Minnesotan (ok there was that one year at birth that I was in Canada) I feel truly blessed that we have the incredibly unique world of the North Shore of Lake Superior. Those who have experienced the North Shore know how special it is. Whether it’s experiencing one of the last truly wild places left in North America when you travel into the boundary water, immersing yourself in the rich history and culture of the region or just relaxing in the incredible natural beauty of the area, the North Shore is special. It’s my goal, here at North Shore Experiences, to share the adventures I’ve enjoyed and tell some of the stories of the people, places and history or the region that make it special.
A little about me
As I mentioned, I’m a lifelong Minnesotan. I grew up in rural northwestern Minnesota. Today, I live in Minneapolis where I run my marketing firm Lake One. I spend an incredible amount of time every year on the North Shore and in the north woods on the Ely side of the boundary waters (that’s where I was inspired to start my most recent business years ago and found the perfect name for it, literally a lake at the end of the road.
